Since last session (for me anyway) was a marathon game of Advanced
Civ I'm inclined to play a string of quicker games this time.

I'd like to try an insane Alhambra game with all 16 expansions. I've
been working on a player aid that incorporates all the rules into a
single sequence of play.

I also wouldn't mind playing Lord of the Rings (the boardgame) mostly
since I've been watching the movies again recently.

This will be our first December Game Day so there's no history to go
on but I tend to expect a smaller turn out with the possibility of
people traveling for the holidays. That goes both ways though so if
you have family and friends in town visiting you feel free to bring
them by!

Please let me know if you can make it so I know how much food and
drinks to get (and also so I can start begging for extra chairs if
there's a large group!)

December WGA Woodbridge Game Meet is Here!

NOTICE: Pre-Registration for WGA NEW YEARS EVE ALL-NIGHTER will be Held at Woodbridge on the Same Day

On Saturday, December 16th, the WGA will host another open gaming meet.
These game meets are opening gaming, and all are welcome, including non-WGA

All offices are up for election:

Chairman - The chairman may convene meetings of the council or the members; he/she shall publicize the activities of the Association and serve as its official representative and spokesman.

Secretary - The secretary shall keep the records of all official business, except financial records, including results of elections and a membership roster.

Treasurer - The treasurer shall receive dues and other revenue of the Association for deposit in an appropriate bank account; he shall keep an exact record of all receipts and expenditures.

Webmaster - The webmaster shall maintain the website.

Site Events Manager - The site events manager will be responsible for official Association meet sites, events, and tournaments; he/she shall assign meet site coordinators/tournament coordinators as seen fit.

Club Liaison - The club liaison will be responsible for promoting the club and its events, handle the workings between the Association and other clubs and handle relations with vendors and game makers/designers.

In addition there is one Council At-Large position available for election.

The WGA will be holding a membership meeting on Sunday October 30th at
the Centreville Regional Library. We have a room reserved from noon

The purpose of the meeting will be to hold a special election for the
vacant council position of Site Events Manager and discuss the
upcoming New Year's Eve All-Nighter. As usual we will also host open
gaming before and after the meeting.

WGA Participates in National Games Week With Event on Nov 26th!


The WGA is hosting an open gaming day as part of the National Games Week activities at the Game Parlor in Chantilly, VA (just South of Dulles Airport) on Friday, 26 November (day after Thanksgiving) from 10am until 6 pm. You may continue to game after the 'official' event ends until the store closes at 10pm. For directions see www.gameparlor.com.


Nation Games Week is a celebration of gaming in all genres. Sponsored by Gaming companies such as Wizards of the Coast, Eagle Games, Rio Grande Games, and Mayfair Games, all your favorite games will be played at a Game Store near you. The WGA will be hosting a Day of gaming as part of the National Games Week, in which RPG's, Board and card games are welcome.

GCOM (Gaming Club of Maryland) will be hosting several Gaming Sessions as well, to celebrate the week. You can find more about those events at www.gamesclubofmd.org.
